Melbourne really is the sporting capital of Australia this Sunday, but they need to build bigger stadiums.
The A-League Grand Final will certainly be a 30,000 sell out at AAMI Park, but the extra 25,000 fans that missed out on a ticket because the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle are using Etihad Stadium can’t be happy.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au is asking whether there’ll be a bigger crowd at the shunted Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC game, with $1.25 saying yes and $3.75 saying no.
“The Victory have pulled 50,000 plus in both of their grand finals at Etihad so tickets to AAMI Park are like gold. It’ll be far more comfortable for Western Bulldogs fans, who’ll have enough room to lie down length-wise across the seats,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
