New South Wales’ attempt to break their State Of Origin curse may not get off to an ideal start according to punters, with more than double the money bet with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au on Queensland to win Game 1 tomorrow night.
While priced as the $1.45 favourites ahead of NSW ($2.85) to win game 1, punters aren’t predicting a complete blow out, with most of the money suggesting the Maroons will win by between 1 and 12 ($2.75).
Either way, it looms as a good night for Greg Inglis, priced as the $8.50 favourite to be the first try scorer.
With Queensland the clear favourites to win Game 1, it looks likely to set the tone for the remainder of the series, priced at $1.42 to win their ninth series in a row.
“There is so much to play for in game 1, but punters are thinking it will be same old story, with more than double the money bet on Queensland despite their odds of $1.45,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
