Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is a short $1.20 to win a seat at the next Queensland election. $5.00 to earn a higher approval rating than Malcolm Turnbull.
Pauline Hanson’s strong showing in the latest Newspoll is expected to translate into lower house seats in both state and federal parliaments according to sportsbet.com.au.
The online bookmaker has Pauline Hanson’s One Nation priced at a short $1.20 to win a seat at the next Queensland election, with one to four seats the favoured number at $1.95.
While Queensland is not due to hold an election until 2019, Sportsbet thinks it will go early, with 2017 the favourite year for the state to head back to the polls, paying $2.40.
With the WA State Election set for early next year, Sportsbet thinks Hanson’s party will win an upper house seat, which is the $1.40 favourite, while a lower house seat is less likely at $8.50
Hanson’s One Nation is $11 to win a lower house seat at the next Federal Election, $5.00 is on offer if Hanson earns a higher approval rating than Malcolm Turnbull before 2018, with $251 on offer if she becomes Australia’s Prime Minister by 2020.
“The Pauline Hanson juggernaut continues to roll on, with her support across the country skyrocketing. The odds suggest she will be a major factor in both the Western Australian and Queensland elections, with Sportsbet not ruling out her picking up seats at the next Federal Election,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Bulmer.
