Sydney architecture firm FJMT favoured to be the winning Ritz-Carlton development bid. It’s a flip of a coin odds on whether the development will have a rooftop casino.
Development tipped to cost more than James Packer’s Barangaroo.
Sydney is continuing to raise the bar on developing cloud splitting skyscrapers with three development firms in the race to develop the new Ritz Carlton Hotel at The Star.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has opened betting on the three with a highly reputable local firm leading the race:
Design C by FJMT
The futuristic design from the Sydney based firm heads Sportsbet’s market at odds of $2.00.
Design A by Grimshaw Architects
The designer of Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station find themselves in the running at odds of $2.75.
The somewhat peculiar design from BVN is considered the $4.00 outsider to win the bid.
In other betting Sportsbet is offering, the odds of the development having a spectacular rooftop casino are $1.87 whilst the development is fancied to cost more than James Packer’s Barangaroo at $1.10.
“No doubt there’ll be plenty of interest in puttin’ on a bet on the Ritz. It would be great to see a local firm get the nod but the betting is quite open to begin,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
