The highly anticipated Batman v Superman movie is set to take in between $16 million and $17,999,999 in its opening weekend according to the markets with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
That particular bracket is the $2.50 favourite, just ahead of $14 million – $15,999,999 which is at $3.50.
Star Wars looks like being its kryptonite though, with Batman v Superman only considered an $11 chance to gross higher in its opening weekend.
The superhero supermovie is however expected to outdo The Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.87) and Deadpool ($1.40).
Sportsbet can’t decide which character will have more costume impersonators and both are priced at $1.87.
“Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s Superman, and even better, Batman’s been thrown in for extra box office takings,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
