Singer-songwriter Vance Joy is in the box seat to emerge victorious in his second popular vote contest in Australia this year, with online bookie installing him favourite to be crowned 2014 Cleo Bachelor Of The Year.

Just seven months after Joy’s hit song Riptide topped Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown, the 26-year-old is Sportingbet’s $7 favourite to beat 29 other bachelors for the coveted Aussie title.

“Joy is not only ridiculously good looking, he’s creative, successful and has a very nice beard,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.

“There’s no doubt he’s got plenty of competition, but Joy has already proven that people are motivated to vote for him so we expect the public to rally behind him again.”

Barista and store manager Jack May is the $10 second favourite at Sportingbet, in front of adventurer and filmmaker Lucas Handley ($12) and Wonderland actor Glenn McMillan ($12).

Sydney Swans player Tom Derickz ($12) and Central Coast Mariners footballer Zac Anderson ($13) are next in the betting.
